Who Am I?
My epic journey
My name is Lauren Lindberg, and my path to filmmaking has been anything but ordinary. I didn’t just choose to become a filmmaker — I was called to it through my own lived experiences. My journey has been marked by brain injuries, healing, and moments of deep transformation that forced me to look inward and rebuild. Out of that struggle came a fire: a passion to tell stories that matter, stories that bring light to the unseen and give voice to those often unheard.
My work has screened in over 60 national and international film festivals, including the San Francisco Film Festival, Los Angeles Film Festival, Paley Docujam, Mill Valley, Vancouver, International Wildlife Film Festival, Sarasota Film Festival and Atlantic. I've been featured on PBS Independent Lens. Film awards include: Best Documentary, Best Youth Film, Filmmaker of Tomorrow, Best Editing, and Audience Choice Awards.
My film career began as a teen member of Bay Area Video Coalition's Factory Youth Program in Oakland, California. In 2011, I received a Jefferson Award for Public Service, for my work in social issue documentary.
I believe filmmaking is more than entertainment. It’s a vessel for healing, for connection, and for reimagining what’s possible in our world. My work is grounded in values of creativity, freedom, love, and impact. Each project I create is an invitation: to look deeper, to question, and to step into a more expansive way of seeing ourselves and each other.
