Across universes I have lived and here I am to tell the tale.

People say if you have an idea and you don’t act on it, it stays in the collective consciousness. Someone else can pull it down and make it a reality.

So it is August 25th, 2025 at 2:45 p.m.a magical combination of numbers and I've

decided to post one of my dream concepts online. Just to postmark it. Because it is one of my bigger budget movie ideas and I might as well just get it down on paper.

If someone stumbles upon this and wants to make a fantastical film about magical women and alternate realities keep on reading. And then call me!

I got really excited when I saw Everything Everywhere All At Once. They did something that I love. Just like Sliding Doors. Just like The Butterfly Effect (director's version!)

What these films all have in common is that they showcase how every decision we make alters our reality. And that there may just be infinite versions of ourselves out there, who have made other choices, living very different versions of our lives.

That is so freaking fascinating to me.

And Rendelen is a movie I want to make that plays into this idea through rich alternate realities.

It would be about 20% documentary and 80% what-if —alternate lives of a wise old woman.

I imagine Iris Apfel, RIP.

So whimsical.

So storied.

So beautiful.

She’s in this decadent chair, surrounded by ornate art direction.

And we’re sitting down to interview her. And as she recounts her life, there are moments of "what could have been."

The job she didn’t take.

The lover she didn’t fly across the world for.

The child she almost had.

And in sharing them, the stories begin to unfold in these parallel universes that we have access to.

I won’t share all of it, but…I can't wait to make this one day. P.S One day when I was 24, a friend of a friend called me Ren. At that moment I sort of had this profound realization of how different my life would have been if I had gone by the name of Ren instead of Lauren. Ren just seemed so alluring and powerful. Thus the name of the film was born.
